Trickle Charger?
I just purchased a flight pack that comes with a trickle charger off of Ebay. I have read how important it is to take care of the batteries, so my questions are when is it beneficial? and why is it beneficial? to use a trickle charger, if at all or should I just scrap it and get a straight wall charger for my rx and tx? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jim Starbuck |
Trickle Charger?
Trickle charger just keeps the battries charged without damaging them. I would recommend that you just get a quick charger and use it on your packs.

Trickle Charger?
Jim,
Them quick chargers are great. I've been using the trickle charger or wall wart (whatever you call them) for years. They work great also. You do have to keep track of how many hours to charge. I figure 3 hours for each flight plus one additional hour for each day it has sat unused. Never to exceed 12 hours. It doesn't hurt to give it a little extra. Tom |
Trickle Charger?
I've been using the trickle charger or wall wart (whatever you call them) for years A standard charger, or wall wart, is a C10 charger, which means it charges the pack at around 1/10th of it's capacity. (600 maH will be charged at 60 ma's.) A "trickle" charger charges at more like C100, and is therefore NOT capable of charging a battery pack, only maintaining a pack that's already charged. Jim, You definitely will need to get a standard wall charger if you didn't get one with the Tx and Rx. (??) Dennis- |
