What engine for U Can Do 3D?
I'm trying to determine the best engine for my next plane, a Great Plains U Can Do 3D. Recommended to me by the guys at
the club. However, the range of engines for the UCanDo is stated to be from .64-.91 2 stroke or .75-.91 4-stroke. On top of that, the guys at the club say "there's no such thing as too much power, plus a 4-stoke give a faster response--get a Saito 100" despite the UCanDo warnings about overpowering the airframe. Comments would be helpful. |

Saito 1.00 is perfect, O.S. .91 is a close second. YS .91 is a little too heavy....
Most .91 2 strokes are also decent, but this plane really deserves a 4 stroke in my opinion. Try this- http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...20&forumid=230 There is more information on this airplane around here than anybody thought was possible! Welcome to RCU... :)) |

The Saito 100 would be a good match but as for the YS there is a Ucan do with one at my club and it flies great, Just have to have throttle control with the bigger 4 strokes,

Well, you need throttle control no matter what engine you use...It's only overpowered if you use all the power there!
The YS .91 is a great engine, but it is heavy. It's 6 or 8 ounces heavier than the Saito 1.00 which is a significant difference. You don't need the extra power and definitely don't need the extra weight. |
Thank you all
Thank you all for your advice. It sounds like the saito 100.
