The long tail of the GP Skybolt makes it more forgiving than other BiPlanes.

It's a wonderful flyer, and is simply gorgeous.

It looks so good, that I'm sometimes afraid of flying it!

After something like this, you can more safely move onto say an Ultimate, or other BiPlane.

If you go down a couple of posts this question was asked just this week. I think there is another Bipe question in the building forum. It has some great ideas for your first Bipe. You never mentioned, how is your skill level, what type of planes have you been flying?? Someone just coming off there trainer may not want to jump into Bipes right away. As wonderful as the Bolts are a Tiger Moth may be a better choice if your still new to flying?

You might qualify your question to be an ARF or a kit. If a kit, I would recommend a SIG Hog Bipe, a 60 size plane. Flight characteristics are fairly forgiving. Make sure that initial CG specs are on the nose heavy side of the balance point. Not so forgiving when tail heavy.

Das Bipe Stick. Easy scratch build. Expensive to buy an OOP kit though, one on Eba^ going for $150.00. You could scratch build one for very little. Free plans can be found in the scratch build forum.
The Skybolt is a SWEET plane but more of a build IMHO.
