New Comer!

Hows everyone tonight?

Well I have been wanting to get into RCPlanes for a while and think it is time! I have been looking @ the E-Flite Apprentice 15e to start off with. Im completely in the dark as far as training and what. Any suggestions/direction would be great!

I do live in Paris,Ontario,Canada. Not sure if anyone would have any idea if there is any clubs in the area where I could get some training from as well.

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Welcome to RCUniverse and your first post

If you could find a hobby shop nearby they could tell you about other people flying

As far as going non-electric or electric what is your suggestions? Im really interested in the Alpha 40 DSM2 RTF by Hangar 9. This plane is not electric correct? But it is not Nitro either?

dbratt; the Alpha 40 is a glow engine or nitro, choosing wether to go nitro or eletric can be very intimadating, I would suggest to first find an instructor and talk to them before buying your plane, some consderation that might come into play will be where you fly and any restrictions there may be, some places have a noise restriction. another would be transporting yourself and a plane, field gear, fuel, where as eletric you only have yourself, a plane and maybe a field charger

Dan,
You are less than a 2 hour drive away from me. I live in Lockport, NY, about 20 miles east of Niagara Falls, NY. Before you spend a dime, you can come down here, once the weather gets better, and I will let you fly my trainer so you can feel what it's like to fly RC.

This is an open offer to anyone, even if you are just curious about this hobby/sport. I've been doing this for many years now.
