Expo question
Okay I figure I should know this by know but I havent set up anything with expo, since my two alpha and escapade was on my old JR tx and I dont have expo. I had aquired a DX6i off of craigslist with a blade 400 and cx2 for my attempts into the heli side of things. But havent had a plane on the dx6i.
In getting an intership for the next six months and looking forward to some much better pay checks over my usual campus cafeteria job :D. And I just finished the school quarter with, Im hoping another quarter on the deans list. I decided it was time to get myself a present lol. So I got the remaining parts I needed to set up my GP yak 55 flight flex. And I got myself the little bird I had had my eyes on for quite some time that little park zone SU-26 sukhoi. My Co-op is in my home town so I'll be living at home and bringing all my planes but I thought it would be great to have a little micro to fly around the yard or the nearby park cause I'll be workin full time and traveling back to school on weekends to see the girlfriend and continue to be apart of the RIT Aero design team. So back to the original qn. I know what expo is I just get it mixed up, which does which. Is positive expo the one where its slow around the center and quicker at the ends, and negative where its fast around center and slower towards the outside? Or is it the other way around. If you guys could point me straight that would be awsome. Also does anyone have recommended expos for the su-26. I set DR at 70% and 100% Ive heard its pretty twitchy and I havent flown anything smaller than a 40 size plane before. Ive heard the micros can be a handful due to their light weight small size and huge control services, Im not a novice pilot. But I definatly like to go slow into new planes to get comfortable before I start flippin it around like a maniac. Thanks for any help guys! Dylan |
RE: Expo question
Since you mention a DX6 positive expo makes it less sensitive around center.
Futaba is opposite, negative expo makes it less sensitive. If you want to see just jack up the expo on a channel up to 90 percent or so and move the stick, it will be obvious. Start with 25 percent or so and adjust to suit. |

RE: Expo question
Hey another question I went to the LHS and got the reciever and servos for the GP yak 55 flight flex. I wasnt payin attention cause I know the dude and he knows everything. He asked me if i was spektrum and grabbed the reciever and servos I needed. I didnt even pay attention just took what he handed me. Got home and saw the servos were futaba. I thought you couldnt mix. Can these servos work with the spektrum reciever?
|
RE: Expo question
You can't mix receivers, but the servos will work fine
|
RE: Expo question
So as long as i have the dx6i, a spektrum reciever, the futaba servos will work? Awsome thanks guys
|
RE: Expo question
Yes, they will work. There is a small tab on the side of the plugs on Futaba servos. Snip that tab off and then they will plug directly into the Spektrum receiver.
