it can handle an unregulated 2Cell Lipo battery and has amazing torque... I am gonna be building a 50cc size MX2...
would just like to know which C rating Lipo to use? one surely doesn't need a high rating if its gonna be a receiver
pack... just want to make sure...

Do you think the RX will handle 7.2 volts ? Actually a fully charged 2C lipo has a bit over 8 volts.
When dealing with high voltage servos I think you should use 2 batteries: a 7.4V lipo regulated to 6V (or the usual 4.8 / 6 NiMH) for RX and another 2C lipo (aprox 7.4 - 8v) for the high voltage servos.
Servo city sells a device that will help you to connect the + /- wires to a second battery and the signal wire to the RX. Or you can build your own.

a 1500 mah 20c pack would be plenty, 1000mah 15c would prob be fine depending on how many you were running.
but honestly i would buy life battery packs not lipo's, their safer (no explosions/fires), can recharge faster, and dont cost that much different

or you could make your own pack for like 10-20 bucks useing all-batt life round batteries
