I have spent a lot of time searching the archives and I have seen a lot of posts that make me want to ask that question. This may be the first time I have noticed someone actually ask it. Okay, maybe I just missed it before, but I certainly have been wondering about it...

Well I looked in the club rules they gave me where I'm getting instruction and will most likely join that club soon and this is all I could find...

"Every member in good standing is responsible and has equal power to enforce the Safety and Flying Field Regulations".

So I'm guessing if more than 1 guy said to someone "new" that your plane isn't safe to fly - you either would have to get ugly and demand to fly - or you would go home and fix it and come back.

Yes I DO. As one of the Safety Officers I can (we have 3).

But the problem is If I say NO, they will probably just come back during the week while I am not there. Then you have someone with a questionable plane FLYING ALONE.

95% of R/C'ers use common sense. The few that are clueless, are the problem. Usually a few quiet words and they will take the plane home and make changes.

It is the few you need to watch out for. I try to check out visually first. But there are things you can't really see (i.e how many times have the radio/servos been crashed.)

The few (2) in our club sometimes take advice, other times you get "I know better." Then it is judgement call as to the SAFEST response.

If I see someone knowingly fly anything unsafe, I will step in. Usually others will beat me too it. This is a great club.

I guess I have never had more than one person at a time as a student so I have been fortunate. I guess I am looking forward for my burn out experence! :D

Since I am a student in training id like to give my input

Our club has 2 reserved student instruction days. one is Wednesday from 5 pm till dusk and the 2nd Sunday from 10am-2pm. If you show up during these days/times, you will be guaranteed an instructor. Whoever is free (sitting on the bench ) will be your instructor. Rarely do you get the same instructor every single time. Out club has a field marshall to tell the instructors who to take up.

** Instructors will NEVER fly one student after another. They always take a break. I never go on any other days because

1) I am not guarantted instruction . The field is quite far from my house and it would be a wasted trip

2) I let the instructors fly their own planes so they dont suffer from the instructor burnout disorder :D

A while back at our club a young girl who was keen on flying came every day and expected the instructors to take her up always and to forget flying their own planes. The situation got so tense that the girl shouted obscene words and left the club. The instuctors didn't feel sorry for her because she never followed the club rules and and only thought about herself

Hope this gives some ideas
