Thunder Tiger Pro 40.
 

Just got the new Pro 40 installed on one of my Trainer Plane.. I have to say.. It has more power then I thought it would have........ It started on the first try and ran like a top....

Two thumbs up on it.. I would recommend it to other..

I have one, too. And I agree, a great engine. I currently have one in my Ultra Sport .40, while its not a beast of an engine, it flies the plane with plenty of authority.

Thunder Tiger engines are terrific across the board. I own two GP-07s, two GP-42s, a GP-61, a Pro .46, and a TT F-91s four stroke. I often comment that, if I could only fly one brand of engine, I'd fly Thunder Tiger.

The engine you put on your trainer is actually the designated engine for a couple of different classes of sanctioned pylon racing events. The TT Pro .40 is no slouch!

Ilike all my Thunder Tigers, even my old baffle ported 15.
As I have often said, the Thunder Tiger GP42 is probably the most reliable engine in its class and is totally underrated.

I have one on my Thunder Tiger Pitts 40 ARF. The other is on a Phoenix Models Sonic Low Wing .25 ARF that is stupidly overpowered yet perfectly balanced by the GP-42.

The GP-42 is such a terrific engine, I can't believe more guys aren't flying them. The one on my Pitts 40 was tuned slightly rich and was turning a MA 10x6 right out of the box on its very first tank of fuel at 13,500 rpm.

You can spend a lot more money for a .40-size two stroke, but you can't buy a better engine than the TT GP-42, TT Pro .40, or TT Pro .46. They are all three simply superb engines.

I couldn't agree more. My .46 pro is an incredible engine. I've owned a bunch and this is my favorite.

That is good to hear! I ordered my first TT yesterday, a GP42. All of my other engines are OS, Fox, Enya, or Magnum. I got it for a Jemco PT-19 kit I have had for 30 years that I just started building:D. It was the only 40 size engine I could find that was 3 inches or less from the back plate to the front of the drive washer. The Jemco kit was designed for the old style plain bearing smaller/lighter 40s. A plus is that it should have plenty of power.

I am going to measure my Norvel 40 to see how short it is. It is another good runner in my fleet.

I just perchesed a trainer with a 78.5 wingspan and it has a thunder tiger .40 glow in it and I can run it at a third throttle and it does great!!
