GOLDBERG EAGLE II

Hey guys i am in need for some help,
I am looking to get into nitro, this would be my 2nd plane from switching from a hobbyzone commander 2. The commander was fun but is now a joke i need more controll and power i want to step up to a nitro trainer. I found a nice guy in local area that will sell me a Goldberg Eagle II, fully set up futoba radio, starter, glow plugs, fuel pump, and even one of his field boxes for $145! He belongs to a club and buys airplanes and builds them. He said it had a O.S. Max .40 but the step-up engine like LT? I am wodering is this a good buy and is this a respectable plane to start with?

A Goldberg Eagle 2 is normally $119.99 with some assembly required. To get one already assembled with an engine and radio system for that price is a steal!

That's a terrific trainer and a terrific deal.

I started with the Eagle II as well, and I still fly it! For that price, you can't go wrong. If you would like it, I can e-mail you the instruction book from the Kit. I may give you some info for setting the plane up to fly.

Enjoy and Good luck!

I agree, great way to get started. I learned on the eagle II and it was a blast, started out with an LA46, eventually swapped to a magnum .52 and it made it a blast as I learned more.... met an unfortunate end with an 'inverted landing'..

I beat the heck out of it and it was easy to repair, plus it took lots of abuse..

besides, it looks cool, actual windows and a pilot.. not something you see in every trainer..

good luck have fun!!!

Hay Podritz, listen up.... YES buy the Eagle deal. I'll bet this "nice local guy" will also throw in some free flying lesons so you can transfer from your park flyer to this glo powered trainer. Join AMA and his local club so he can help you at your local field. Most of us would much prefer to help someone who buys one of our second hand planes then to just hand it to him and have it auggered into the ground. I bet he will help you if you ask. GO for it!!! Good luck & good landings

52larry52 Thank you for the info, and thank you everyone. He called and said that he is going to put thunder tiger.42 engine in it because he thinks it will fair better for me, is this better?

RE: GOLDBERG EAGLE II

The Thunder Tiger GP-42 is an ideal .40-size trainer engine. If he suspects the engine on the plane right now may be wearing out or difficult to tune, he's doing you a favor by replacing it.
