Is there an RTF that will fly in a backyard?

I've been taking lessons on a trainer at the local flying field and want something that'll fly in my backyard for extra practice. Any suggestions?

yes...

GWS Tigermoth...it's electric but you can fly it in very small places...well, I can anyways.

I really like the tiger moth although I'm looking more for an RTF. If I can find an inexpensive flightpack for the tiger moth I would jump on it. I'm into electrics although I've been training on a glow engine trainer. Alot of the RTF's are inexpensive but I don't know how they do in a backyard about 50x 50 like mine. Thanks for the suggestion!

There are no RTF's that you can fly in an average size backyard...Only ARF's and a few kits.

The Tigermoth is a great one and my favorite of all that I've had. I think I had 2 or 3 of them a couple months ago...

You can get the flight pack for about $90 plus $10 for the crystal...Then add $15 for a charger and $55 for the airplane. That's $170 assuming you use your Tx...That's also about 2 hours of assembly.

Flying that 'moth out in the street on all those calm summer nights last year is something I will always remember. I'm not sure if I have ever had as much fun since...

Thanks for the suggestion. I say a tiger moth with a flight pack online for $300. I knew that had to be high.

Thanks!

Or the IFO, that way when it rains you can use it in the lounge room

A Zagi is too fast for the backyard...Tigermoth can be flown around a tree in a 10 foot circle

A GWS Tiger Moth or Cub will fly in that 50 X 50 foot circle. It will be tight though. You're going to have to stay on the controls constantly, and if you're just learning, I don't think it'll work for you. :(

You need a bigger area (ballpark down the street?), or get a flight simulator.

Nice setup Dan. I appreciate all the advice and comments. I guess I assumed that a plane a quarter the size of my trainer would be more manuverable. I'll probably just get some more practice at the field first. I'm sure looking forward to having abackyard flyer though. I have to drive half an hour to the field. Of course I've heard of people driving even farther so I can't complain. :) Maybe when I get a good 10 years of flying under my belt I'll try helicopters. I know they'll fly in my yard. Just a matter of keeping the thing in the air. I here there hard to learn on.

Anyway, thanks for you help.
