OS 75AX

Hello
Am going to buy the Boomerang 60 trainer and am thinking of OS 75AX 2 stroke as powerplant, is this a good combination or are there other motors I should use?
Does anyone out in forum land fly this plane?
What type and size motor do you use?

Thanks

thats a fine motor ... My friend has one on a hobbico 60 trainer, its probably a bit much for it....but if you practice throttle management, youll be ok.... you can always use that motor for a nice sport plane once your are done training

It will fly the plane and maybe a couple more at the same time. If you go with it, you'll have a good engine for more advanced airplanes down the road. You don't necessarily need all that power for the trainer though so you could do fine with a less expensive engine if you want. It just depends on how you want to look at it and what you want to spend.

A friend has a OS 75AX and he thinks it is the greatest two stroke he's ever owned.

He's had it since they first came out and never any trouble.

RE: OS 75AX

If you can find a OS 91FX, it is even lighter than the OS 61FX or the 75 AX and has more power. You'll have fantastic climb rate. Keep throttle management in mind in level flight or dives, listen for flutter, that will kill a plane if you don't back down instantly. The OS 91FX with a plastic needle valve is the most trouble free of that model and less expensive to find new or used than the new 75 model (great runner too).

Best engine you will ever have it is a powerhouse and reliable.
