Aurora 9
hey all, have anyone tried this radio yet? I'm thinking on getting one of these but wanted to see what people say about it... battery life? programing difficulties? any signal issues? any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks! |
RE: Aurora 9
I have not used it and I saw a guy using at our flying club, infact he is expert pilot and got sponsor for 3D planes, he was using it and told me it's a great radio, great battery life and perfect to use. If I had enough money I'd certainly go for this radio. Rest of the opinions would be given to you by many users here. Is it over $350 to $400 right?

RE: Aurora 9
I just purchased and recieved one last week. Finally had the opportunity to try it out on Sunday. I LOVE IT. Its got a very good weight, its super easy to program, extremely flexible. I got it with 2 Optima 7 recievers for $429, and it included a coupon for another free optima 7. Thats a 9 channel, fully programmable with 30 model memory computer radio, and three 7 channel receivers (a $180 value for the recievers alone). I flew 8 flights and only pulled about 30-40% of the transmitter battery. The transmitter is also compatible with 2S Lipo.
Also the receiver battery voltage is transmitted back by the reciever without any additional modules. A really useful feature. Go for it. Brad |

RE: Aurora 9
I have the radio, I have not used it a ton, but it is very easy to program and the Rx are affordable, $49 for a 6 channel, $69 for 7 channel. I do like seeing the Rx voltage on the transmitter. I think it feels well. On the latency, I think that there may be a few people that could actually tell the difference, but I am far, far, far away from that point. I also like that you can get easy updates for the radio on your own.

Here's a better thread to let you know what people think about the Aurora 9, I'd skip the first 60 pages.:D
