Do you think it is safe to go to a Sky Scooter2 from a Firebird XL.

No idea, BUT one of the newbs at our club fliers the SKy Scooter and it seems to go realy well, the only thing i think it needs is some sort of speed control other than the on/off it has

If you get the Sky Scooter Pro II package it does have 3 channel radio with speed control.
As for the original question, it is a good flier and I think you will have a lot of fun with it. I haven't flown in about 10 years (and even then it was just .049 2 channel planes) and picked it right up. There are easy mods you can do to increase flight time as well once you get used to flying it. |

The Sky Scooter II is a great trainer airplane. You'll have lots of fun with it and they are extremely durable. I just got one of these for my dad (his first rc plane)who just turned 69 and he is doing very well with it.

Great plane for you to learn on, just be aware that the radfio will be a little different. You should have no problem with the change over.

I agree with everybody...I think it's a good next step and you won't have much trouble with the changeover.
