Hobbyzone Mini Super Cub Problem - Please help

Hi Guys,

Ive recently started to love RC planes and after a few flights with my Hobbyzone Mini Super Cub, I crashed (oops) and after a few bits of tape to repair a very small piece of damage to the top of the rudder, it wont take off. The nose did take a bash in the accident and the rotor looked wonky - I have straightened this and it still wont lift off.

Is there an angle the prop and prop shaft should point - at the moment it points slightly up so the wind it produces goes over the wings.

Any advice gratefully received to get me back in the air....

Thanks! :)

On those planes the prop shaft needs to be pointing DOWN for "down thrust angle". My illustration is grossly exagerated... And no, I'm not 3 yrs old:D

Do you have less power than you did before the crash? If you bent the prop shaft it may be wearing funny and causing extra load/resistance inside the motor.

Now youve said that - I think there is a bit less power - is there a fix for this, or am I buying a new plane here?

Is there a way to check it's bent - can I remove it?

Thanks again for all your help!!

Take the cowl off. With the plane turned off and battery removed, turn the prop by hand while looking at the shaft comming out of the motor and the center of the prop. Look for a wobble. If it apears straight. Install the battery and carefully hold the plane and observe the prop and prop shaft for a wobble. If it wobbles, it is bent.
