Help - Tru turn spinner -
 

Hi all.
Yesterday i brought my first tru turn spinner to use in my TFcessna 182 (Building). I was looking in my old spinner and i noticed that spinner backplate goes behind the 'engine propeller backplate' (i don't know what's the same, but it's when propeller fits in the engine). Since i'm finishing my cowl and didn't get spinner yet, i'm wondering if tru turn spinners has a flat blackplate or there is any space behind the propeller?

you will be OK the back plate on the TT spinner is flat the propeller sits up against the back plate.

look closely through the prop slots in your link you can see the back plate is smooth, tru-turn spinners have a groved gripping area machined into the back plate, like your plastic one as well.

About propeller, i already knew that backplate is flat.....what i don't know is about that groove. In this plastick backplate, i have 4mm from groove and the real end of backplate (the border of backplate). If there's this space, do you know how much? In my plastic spinner, the backplate goes 4mm behind the engine backplate, like the image.

Hi jmaurin.  Yes, that is the spinner I am using.  I actually have had A LOT of help from a guy at my club who graciously helped me with my build.  I honestly did not do much on my own.  You will be fine with the spinner though.  The only problem you may have is the adapter kit.  I didn't get the right one til I talked one-on-one with TruTurn at the Toledo Show.  I recommend calling TruTurn directly if you do not already have the adapter kit for your engine & making sure you get the right one.  Hope this was helpful & good luck with your Cessna!

I believe the Tru-Turn spinners have a back-plate that is flush on the backside (though it is knurled for grip). Probably depends on which sise or diameter you get; and whether electric, glow or gas sizes. They make a LOT of different spinner.

I'm almost sure that all of the Tru-Turn spinners have a flat plate, however I won't swear to it. You best bet to be sure is go directly to the Tru-Turn website. They have a picture and dimensions of most of the spinners they sell. You can verify that the spinner you ordered does have a flat backplate

Go to thw web page you noted above regarding which spinner you are getting and then go to Tech notes and it will give you the info you need.
