flaps on left slider <> servo arm position ?

I have never flown a sailplane with flaps before and I am now building a Multiplex Cularis.
I have just check the servo arms for the ailerons to make sure that the arm is 90° to the servo when the stick is in neutral position.

But what about the flaps ?
The flaps will be operated via a slider
Sould the servo arms for the flaps make a right angle to the servo :
- when the slider is at the bottom position ?
- when the slider is at the center position ?
- or ????

Thanks for your help

Eric

RE: flaps on left slider <> servo arm position ?

There is no reason to make the linkage with the servo arm angled at the neutral point unless you need the full top-to-bottom range of the slider. You should be able to arrange the arms and linkages so that isn't necessary. You can build some differential in by angling the arm but it isn't really worth it with flaps as they deploy in the same direction. Set it up perpendicular. I usually make the slider neutral at the mid-point, also. It's a personal preferance (move them up and they're spoilers and that's just as handy at times).

Thanks for your piece of advice
I will then set the slider neutral at the mid-point (and the servo arm perpendicular)
The only drawback is not being able during the flight to easily come back to the neutral position (it is not easy sometimes to hear the beep of the neutral position when there are noisy glow engines around)
