Hi,

Ok this is probably gonna be a stupid question but as i cant figure it out maybe someone else might :)

I used to use a Futaba Skyport 6Yg Radio but someone else set this up for me and on my plane the ailreons move quite alot up and down.

But ive just purchased a new Futaba 6EXA Computer radio and tested it with my plane but with this radio they move much less. What adjustment do i need to make on the radio so its the same as my old one ? is it something to do with dual rates ?

Any insight would be very helpful :) apart from that everything else works exactly the same i just cant seem to set the wings up :)

Ok,,I'll give this one a shot. :D

Firstly, check your manual. It should have something in reference to (ATV) adjustable travel volume or (EPA) end point adjustment. Different manufactures call it a bit different but they basically mean the same thing. Actually, I think (may be mistaken) Futaba calls it ATV. Anyhow,,,what these do, is allows you to control the amount of throw on the servos. With dual rates, you could adjust the travel or deflection of the ailerons to be a lot(high rate) or be down low (low rate). This function between the rates is determined by a toggle switch,,usually in the upper right hand corner of your Tx.

the dual rates allow two sets of throws, a really nice feature with computer radios.

The problem I see is that the default setting for EPA on computer radios is 100%. His servos should be seeing full travel as it is. I believe the 6EXA will allow EPA to be set to 120%, but I'm not sure any of this will fix the problem.

Do you have one aileron servo, two on a Y harness, or two seperate?

Have you tried flipping the dual rate switch? It may be that the factory setting for low rates is 50% or something. If so, simply flipping the Aileron dual rate switch on the TX may solve the problem. ;)

(Cruz, many non-computer radios today have dual rates for Ailerons and elevator too.)

I have the 6YG and it has dual rates, it does not have low and high adjustments on ailreons, it has it only on throtlle and called ATV. It must be with the settings of your new radio. and yes it is related to dual rates.
