Default Castle Thunderbird 18 esc Q?

I am trying to use a 1s lipo on this 18a esc (thunderbird 18) and am having no luck. It starts up normal with the beeps and such and servos work properly but when I throttle up with cuts out immediately. Are these no good for one cell? I guess this is my first time trying one cell and I realize my servos will be slower but I dont much care for this application. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like you're asking that poor ol' Lipo to do too much work - you'r hitting low voltage cut-off.

The LVC cannot be set below 6v... "Your Thunderbird
is set at the factory to use a 3.0 volt per cell cutoff
voltage.
....you need an ESC specifically designed for 1s Lipo

The TB 18 only works with 2 or 3 cells.
