Default wiring set up for a twin

Hello I am currently building a DC3 with twin outrunner motors and ESC's. the motor;s are rated at 770 watt and the ESC's are rated at 80 amp and programmable but no built in BEC and I am planing on using a 5s 20c 5000mah lipo pack . now as I understand if using twin ESC's I should cut one of the live wire's going to one of the ESC's and use a Y jack leading to the RX .

My Question is would I still have to cut that one live wire even though my ESC's do not have built in BEC's
Thank you
hyflyer9 .

No need to cut the positive lead on either, if you're using ESC's with opto coupling and no BEC, just use the "Y" harness, or two channels if your radio has the capability.

hello pilotpete2
thanks for the reply so I can use them as is a just use a y harness and use a desperate 4.8 or 6 v nicad pack for the RX
Or would you recommend a different set up

Yep you can wire them to a Y harness no problem. And yes a separate 4.8 or 6 volt pack to power the rx/servos will work just fine.
