What exactly are the reasons/ results of different turns (windings i think .. ) and the different rotor lengths in brushless motors ?
ex: the MEGA ACn22 series ..
22/20/2 - 20 mm rotor length - 2 turn
22/10/5 - 10 mm rotor length - 5 turns ]
which ones would run longer and have more thrust ?

Hi,
The turns or windings in a motor determine the Kv or RPMs per volt. The less turns, the higher the RPMs/v (or Kv) and the less torque.
The rotor size also determines torque by increasing the electromagnet coupling (or field) to the magnets. Larger rotors allows for larger magnets and thicker guage wire...hence the higher current rating for the 22/20/2 motor.
What's the drawback? Cost, size, weight, and current requirements. Therefor, picking a motor that is optimal for your application is always a wise choice.
These two motors are similar in some respects but have distinct differences.
What application are you thinking of using these motors in?
Regards.

hey,
Appreciate the info.
I tried mailing a few people dealing in mega motors.
but didnt get a reply.
I want to use a motor for a 47 inch span foam low winger i have lying around.
its a tad heavy at around 1500g's because im planning to use a stock 7 cell 1200mah Nicad RC car battery .
I didnt know what mega 22 motor to choose.
something with more turns or less turns.
I'm also considering a great planes 600 geared( 2.5:1) drive system with a 30 amp ESC instead of the brushless.
its much much cheaper. but im not too sure if that would work well.
any suggestions ?
