Larger motor and esc on a smaller plane question
Hi I have a few Hacker A20-22L motors and Castle Creations Phoenix 25 ESC's I have one set of them in a depron foam 3-d plane that has a 40" wingspan. I want to purchase another plane to put my other motor and esc in but the one I want has EPP foam and is smaller with only a 33" wingspan. Here is the one I'm looking at

Can I use the setup I already have or would I need to purchase a new smaller motor and esc setup?

RE: Larger motor and esc on a smaller plane question
Since the weight (without battery) is listed as only 5.5oz, a 2oz motor is way too much... you should be looking for a motor which weighs <1oz (15g-20g?).
From the website and PDF Manual:
• Motor: 65-75 Watt Brushless Outrunner (Hacker A10-9L Recommended)... just as I suggested... this is 0.7oz = 19.9g
• ESC: 7-12A Brushless ESC (Hacker X-7 Pro ESC Recommended)
An ELERC C20 KV2100 (~1800Kv) [also known as 1806N] would make a cheaper substitute for the Hacker. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=5431
Here are some test data.
