ESC question using digital servos.
I am getting ready to order four HS5065MG servos to use with my Hacker X-30 Pro ESC and was wondering if I can use these with the ESC? Using a 3cell 11.1V Lipo 1350mAh battery.
I am also going to order three HS5045HB servos to use with my Hacker X-7 Pro ESC. This one I will be using a 2cell 7.4v 480mAh lipo. I guess you would have to look up the stats on the speed controllers, but would this combo work for both?
I just want to use these digitals and want to make sure the ESC is capable of handling them.

RE: ESC question using digital servos.
That X-30 Pro has only a 1.5A linear BEC.... I wouldn't trust it at all with four digital servos!
The X-7 Pro has only a 1A linear BEC..... I think that even 3 digital servos would be tempting fate.
I'd invest in a Castle 10A UBEC!

Just got to thinking about what you said. I'm just trying to educate myself about electric stuff, these are my first two electrics. What do you mean when you say 1.5amp and 1amp linear BEC?

RE: ESC question using digital servos.
There are now "switching" ESCs which are better than "linear" ones. Don't ask me the details but a linear ESC is rather like a rheostat and reduces pack voltage down to the 5v needed for Rx and servos by converting the excess to heat. Switch mode somehow does it more efficiently with less waste heat cooking the components.
I am not sure that a 1.5A BEC is going to be enough even for four analog servos.... most decent ESCs have at least 2A-3A BECs.

Wow, OK I guess I should have done my homework before ordering my Hacker stuff. Well, now I guess I'll go with the analog servos and see if their up to the task. Thanks.

Here is one example...switch mode, 4A BEC....... around $22.......probably cheaper than your Hacker X-30: http://www.electriflite.co.uk/store/...cs/fp30pc.html
E-flite sell much the same ESC... but for $45.
