Do you have to have a resistor for a 7.2v motor?

Hello,
I was wondering if I have to add out a resistor or something in between my 7.2v motor and battery. I think I remember see something about it but I'm not sure. If so what do I use?
Thanks,

Your probably thinking about the "noise" capacitors that are installed on the back
of the motor. They are necessary when using any brushed motor around electronics to prevent interference. They act as a filter and absorb voltage spikes
caused by the brushes inconsistent contact with the motor commutator.

You might also be thinking about placing a fuse between the motor and ESC. Download motocalc 7. It has a feature that will show you exactly where and what amp fuse you need. The reason for a fuse is to prevent your motor from drawing too many amps which would blow the ESC.
