Default 4 in 1 quadcopter ESC in a 4 motor airplane?

I'm converting a Guillows B-24 to electric and I'm wondering if there is any reason why a 4 in 1 quadcopter ESC wouldn't work for that? Seems like it could work but I need some expert advice. I don't want differential thrust or motor reversing, just linear response like a normal aircraft throttle.
HK has a them super cheap and it would save some weight in that small airframe.

Thanks for any help,
Mark
