Hi,
I was wondering if a Hitec SP-1010 ESC woluld work for a speed 400 7.2v motor. Would work or would the motor be to much for it? The description says a 6.0v s400 motor would work. '
Thanks,

If this is a 10A ESC it will be okay with any 400 AS LONG AS IT IS NOT OVERPROPPED AND THE CURRENT DRAW DOESN'T EXCEED 10A! A 7.2v 400 will generally draw fewer amps than a 6v 400, but it all depends on your gearing and prop. Get out your Whattmeter and check it in static mode (If it's drawing less than 10A static, it will be safe, since in flight the amp draw will diminish as the prop unloads0.

Is ther some kind of program that I can use to find out the amp draw of the motor?
That way I wouldn't have to run my motor without an ESC to find out.
