Depends on whether it is the 6v or 7.2v motor, and what batteries you have it on!

What ever you have, a 9x6 on 4.09:1 is a bit small to get you as much thrust as you COULD be getting. Here are some numbers:

Speed 400 (6v) 4.09:1

10x6HD: 2s TP 2100: 4.2A, 33W, 6.9oz
3s TP 2100: 7.3A, 82W, 14.4oz
9.6v KAN 950: 7.0A, 71W, 12.3oz

11x7HD: 3s3p 3600 E-tec: 9.6A, 106W, 17.9oz

Speed 400 (7.2v) 4.09:1

10x7 Aeronaut: 9.6v KAN 950: 6.7A, 63W, 11.3oz

11x5.5 APC E: 9.6v KAN 950: 7.1A, 64W, 14.9oz

Hope this helps, Give us the info on YOUR motor and battery set-up.

Cheers, Phil

By extrapolation, from those figures of mine the 10x6HD looks good [you could possibly even go to an 11x7HD - that would probably give better numbers than the 11x5.5E].

Never tested exactly that combo, but I reckon 10x6HD is as big as you'd want to go - a 9x5HD might be good too. I'll try to find the right components and run a test for you tomorrow.

Default RE: thrust!?

As promised, I fitted an old Speed 400 6v into a MaxxProducts ACC 347 gearbox and tested it with 8-cell 950KANs.

9x5 GWS HD:
7.3A*, 9.0v, 66W, 6360 rpm, 356g (12.54oz) static thrust, 5.39g/W

10x4.7 APC SF:
9.8A*, 8.7v, 85W, 5250 rpm, 418g (14.72oz) static thrust, 4.92g/W

10x6 GWS HD:
9.1A*, 9,0v, 82W, 5670 rpm, 404g (14.23oz) static thrust, 4.93 g/W

Hope this helps,

Cheers, Phil
