For an airplane like a 3DX, running Kokam 1200 or 1500 3s1p. AUW of about 11-13oz which is the better choice 2015-4100 or 2015-5400, or any advantage of going 2025-????

No need going to the 2025 series unless you are going to run a direct drive prop and want to runyour packs down faster (higher current draw). The 2015-4100 series is what we run with great success!!!. Because the shaft size on the 2015 is 2mm it is the same as the shaft of the 370 motor.....so you simply need to pull the spur gear off of the 370 motor and press it on to the 2015. The face bolt pattern is the same on the 2015 as the 370 so plug it right back into that same GWS 350C/D gearbox (6.6:1) throw the 11 x 4.7 or the 12 x 6 prop on and go fly that baby.
I use the 3S1P 1200mah E-Tec packs from www.his-hershobbies.com ($32.95), they are getting the Castle Creations speed controllers this month and they already carry the Himaxx brushless motors, a great hitec alternative servo and the carbon fiber spars and their prices are right.
Hope this helps!!!

I second Vanman's recommendation for the 2015 4100 on the 3DX. I also have one of the HiMaxx 2015 5400, and it is a great motor too, but tends to pull more amps, so you would need to run a smaller prop or stay with a 2 cell pack if you go with it.

I agree with you guys, 2015-4100 sounds like the best choice, but you cant get them. So is the -5400 a good choice. Still run GWS 6.6-1 gear box? 12x6 or prop down for less amps, I pretty sure 11x4.7 should perform, maybe even a 10x4.7. What do you think?

According to MotoCalc looks like you would be OK with the Kokam 1500 3S1P + 2015 5400 + 6.6:1 gearing + 11 x 4.7 prop = 11 amps. A 12 x 6 prop would pull close to 14 amps (too much for the pack).
