AXI 4120-18 Real World RPMS
What kind of rpms are other users of this motor getting? I'd like to know the prop your using and battery(s). I'm thinking about putting this motor on a Sledge 540 with a 5s2p Irate pack (2600mah per cell, 10c).

I've got a friend that's putting the 4120/18 on a Hangar 9 Funtana (did I spell Hangar right? sent out a memo to the club with it spelled "hanger" last night). He was trying to do RPM measurements... INDOORS, under flourescent lights. :|
He was running a 13x10 prop on 16 GP3300 cells. Said it nearly pulled the plane straight up out of his hand.

Thanks Greg, thats what I wanted. I'm in the process of converting a Funtanna. A lot of the guys are using Hackers to get the job done but the motocalc numbers make me think this AXI motor should do just fine. I plan on running a 5s2p pack of Irate 2600 lithiums. It won't be a true 5s2p pack as I plan on breaking it up, say a 3s2p and a 2s2p so I can balance the plane easier.

Very encouraging as thats exactly what I'm doing. I have two Funtanas. I have one flying with a YS63 and its like a rocket ship. If this AXI motor will do 75% of what the YS is doing I'll be pretty happy.
I see you and Greg are both from NY. I was born in Rochester, my Dad was one of the founding members of RCCR back in the 60's.

Very good. Please say hi to Don Steebe and Hal Ulrickson. My Dad knows Don and used to build radios and such way back when. Hal is my Uncle and is just learning to fly.
Let me know how your friends Funtana flys. I'm just waiting for Cheap Battery Packs or Tanic Packs to get in the 2.6amp Irate packs.
