Default Benchtop brushless motor testing controller

Has anyone tried and succeeded in putting together a benchtop brushless motor speed controller that plugs into the AC wall outlet? I'd like to run motors through their paces without dealing with batteries and the joystick.

Default RE: Benchtop brushless motor testing controller

Why would you want to do that? There's nothing that extended bench running can tell you that a short 30-second static test can't, other than how hot the motor can get in unrealistic flight conditions.

You'd need a pretty sophisticated, and expensive, bench power supply capable of high voltage and high currents for many of these motors. That doesn't address the brushless controller, or a way to control the controller without a radio. I'd dare bet that nobody has such a setup.
