Default Newbie Questions

What does a 20c discharge rate on a lipo pack mean, what does the c stand for. How do you know what size speed control goes with a motor, will putting an oversized speed control with a motor damage the motor. What does 2208/34 on axi motors stand for is that bigger or smaller than a speed 400 brushed.

C stands for the Capacity of the pack, and 20C tells you how much current you can draw from the pack. 20C means you can draw 20 times the capacity of the pack in Amps. A 1000mAh pack rated at 20C can draw 20 Amps, for example. A 340mAh pack rated at 20C can draw 6.8 Amps.

You buy a speed control that's rated for at least as many cells, and at least as many Amps as you will be drawing in a particular setup. Having a speed control that's "too big" is not a problem. Your only consideration is weight. Having one that's too small is trouble waiting to happen.

It's the model number of the motor. That's pretty much it.

The first two digits is the diameter of the rotor, the second two digits is the length of the rotor, and the pair after the / is the number of winds of wire on the stator. This information is completely useless in comparing the motor with, say, a Speed 400, or even figuring out what the capabilities of the motor are.
