Phoenix 25 jiggles outrunner but it wont start
Have a phoenix 25 controller on a HImax 2015-4100 motor, it will run motor ok if you spin the prop to start it but won't start the motor by itself, it just jiggles the prop back and forth a little bit but motor does not not start unless prop is helped by hand then it runs fine. Anyone know what I can do to fix the situation and make it self starting?
Thanks,

You did not mention if the Himax 2015-4100 was in a gearbox, if so you might try programming the Phoenix to a soft start.
What are your batteries ?

Yes it is in a gearbox and a soft start was programed in but still does not start by itself.
Batteries 3 cell 700 mah.
Does the gear box make it harder for the motor to start?

I don't think 700 mah lipo is enough battery. I think you would need at least a 1200 mah or better.
Soft start is easier on plastic gears.

Have you tried different timing settings?
I agree that a 700mAh LiPoly won't be enough to run the motor for an extended period of time, but it should at least start at low throttle. The jiggling isn't being caused by the battery.

What are the rest of your setting~? Have you tried another battery~? You might need to upgrade the software in your CC. Good luck.

I had this problem with the same motor and controller. I was sure it was an ESC problem and played with all of the programmable parameters without success. Turned out to be a bad solder connection on the motor connectors that plug into the ESC. I re-soldered the connectors and never had the problem again. Just a thought...
