Slow Stick 400 prop doesn't fit!!!
Greetings.
I am putting my first plane together, the Slow Stick 400. It comes with a GWS EP-1060 prop. The driveshaft on the motor is much thicker than the hole in the propeller and the driveshaft has washers on it that don't seem to fit the prop since the prop has hex holes on either side for the nuts. Help please!!
Brad

That's a pretty easy issue to overcome: Ream out the hole in the prop with a drill bit so it fits.
The nut probably won't fit into the recess in the prop hub, so just put a washer on each side and tighten it down. Friction should be enough to hold it.
That gearbox is meant for the GWS "HD" series props, and the prop it came with is meant for the smaller IPS, EPS300 and EPS350 gearboxes.

RE: Slow Stick 400 prop doesn't fit!!!
Thanks Matt. That's what I thought might be the solution.
I wonder if the 1060 is a good prop for the 400 motor?
It is the one GWS sells it with (I thought they might have mispacked it but their website verifies the pairing).[8D]

There is a HD 9x7.5. I ran the numbers with a 7C battery through motocalc and came up with this.
You lose a couple of oz static thrust but make it up in prop speed. Climbs are not as strong with the 9075.
Ignore the name of the plane--didn't change that.
