Default Need help w/ Phoenix-25

I bought a brushless motor for my heli. (EP motor for the Shogun). I have a 3 cell LiPo battery and a Futaba 6XAS Tx. I get very low RPMs and have tried every programming combination (cutoff voltage 9.0 or Auto- lipo detect, Governor at Low and High RPM...) and nothing works. Any advice? Thanx

Can you give more details on the parts you are using, kinda hard to tell without more info.

hello,
More info is needed. But it sounds like low amp battery problem. My older sanyo 8 cell barely runs my mini ac. My Kan 8 cell (with higher discharge) barely keeps up. My older 3s1p tp 2100 does great in bursts, but not sustained. My newest tp 2100 gives me more than I need, and made a huge difference in motor performance. I can draw 21-25 amps constant with 32 amp bursts! Check into your battery's discharge rate verses your systems amp draw. A new pinion gear or something may work. Good luck.

Everything on the heli is stock. The motor is from the same manufacture as the heli, geared and meant to go w/ it. The only information that I got w/ motor is dimensions and weight. The battery is also from the same manufacture. Speed controler is a CC P-25. 3- hs55 servos and 1 hs56. 1 HH gyro.

Yes Shogun (EF) brand
1600mah
charging 1 cell at a time to 4.2v using a GP Triton

The leads from the battery and the plug soldered to the ESC are a smaller size than the leads from the ESC.(16 awg vs. 12 awg). They have not melted or even gotten warm.

I hear the EP brushless motor is not too bad, my LHS really likes it, but the battery sounds like it has to go! My older Kokam 15oo 3cell 11.1 has a 8C rate and it barely hovers my shogun for a few minutes before it starts comin down. I just ordered a Tanic 1550, we will see if it saves my bacon!

Dwight,

Have you tried the controller in fixed throttle mode?

Also - if in gov mode - what throttle % settings are you using? Have you flown e-helis before?

Thanks,
