Default 400 Brushless in Zagi

I presently have a Zagi X with a standard Zagi motor and ESC. I want to hop up this plane somewhat by installing a Kontronik's 400 / 23 brushless motor and compatable ESC . I would also like to continue to use the 8 cell 9.6 volt 1700mah batteries. Has anyone had experience with this plane, motor and battery combination, or any similar sized plane of this design.

You can copy my [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=365]Super Slinger[/link] review. It is the same size as a Zagi and works great on an 8-cell pack.

I'm not familiar with the Kontronik motor. Many people use Mega 16/15/4's in those situations with 8 cells of NiMh. That works well.
