My local hobby shop sold me a Castle Creations Phoenix 25 and a Cermark lipoly battery for my GWS tiger moth. They said that I can use this setup with with the brushed motor. The speed controller has three wires that go to the motor, but the motor only has two. I know from previous experience that the brushless motors have three. How do I wire this up? Can I?

Unfortunately, the Phoenix 25 is a dedicated brushless controller - it would be best for you to return it to the shop you bought it from for an exchange for a controller that is for brushed motors.
