Default Himax outrunner,2816-0890 Verses 2816-1220 ?

How can you compare these two motors? If you ran both of them in the same plane with a 3c
lipo 2100 Prolite , 35amp Esc , and both with a 11-4.7 prop which has more thrust? Has anyone got a link to some info that will make it easier to understand?

Default RE: Himax outrunner,2816-0890 Verses 2816-1220 ?

The number after the dash in this case is the Kv rating, or the RPM/Volt rating. It tells you how many NO-LOAD RPMs the motor will spin for every Volt applied. One motor will do 890 RPM/Volt, and the other will do 1220 RPM/Volt.

Given the same battery and prop, the motor with the higher Kv rating will be "more powerful." It's designed to spin the propeller faster, and a faster-spinning prop will generate more thrust.

There's no free lunch, though. It takes more power to spin a prop faster, so the higher Kv motor will draw more Amps. If all is otherwise well, this means flight times will be shorter. HOWEVER, great care must be taken to make sure the additional Amps won't overload the battery pack, motor, or ESC and burn them out. It could be an expensive mistake.
