Hi All
I'm putting together a GP Refection Flat out with a Rimfire motor. My question is what is the difference between the Electrifly BL 8 ESC and the new Great Planes Silver Series 8A ESC. The only differance that I could find is that the new GP silver series handles 2-4 Lipos vs 2-3 Lipos on the BL 8. And the silver series handles 8-10 amps surge.
The GP silver is 29.99 at Tower while the BL 8 is 34.99? If anyone has info on these ESC please let me know.
Thanks
Mike

Whatever's on paper is what's different. You've pretty much summed up the major differences as far as I can see.
I think you may see a price reduction on the BL8, or the BL8 being discontinued altogether.

Sounds like you've summed up most of the differences. The Silver Series is also intended to be more plug and play. It has a mini polarized deans connector for battery hookup already installed. It also auto-detects about everything so there's very little to program. I've got one on a small foamie and it does well. Never had an issue with it. I also have a 25A Silver Series on a Funtana and it works well. On the larger ones like the 25A ESC Silver Series, they have a deans ultra connector already installed. Feel free to email me if you have further questions. Like the previous poster indicated, they'll probably eventually discontinue the BL-8 and go with the Silver Series--just my speculation.
