Default Axi outrunner or geared Hacker?

Which motor will give a better performance in a 3m electric sailplane (Big Excel) with 10 NiCd (NiMh)cells:

1) AXI 4120/14 with a 17" x 10" prop.
(See http://www.hobby-lobby.com/bigexcel.htm )

or

2) Hacker B50-L with a 6.7:1 gear (same as Simprop Magic-Drive 50-28) with a 18.5" x 12" prop.
(See http://www.simprop.de/Seiten/Modellb...igExcelARF.htm )

Default RE: Axi outrunner or geared Hacker?

The geared solution will give you lowest weight and highest power/weight. The geared setup can also turn a larger prop which will be more efficient too.
