Slinger with Brushless Outrunner
Anyone have any ideas on fitting an outrunner brushless motor on a Great Planes Slinger. I need to upgrade and would love to put an outrunner on my Slinger. Maybe mount it on the end of a wooden dowel the same size as the old 400 brushed and use zip tie to tie it down. What do you think guys?

RE: Slinger with Brushless Outrunner
My first attempt at hotrodding with an Align 3550kv can caught the battery on fire. Wrong ESC timing. It crashed busted the top cover so I modified it for sloping. Got bored with that so I devised a simple motor mount out of a piece of aluminum angle and mounted a Turnigy 2836 outrunner 2350kv. With a 5X5 prop it pulls about 275 watts 3s lipo. It also has 2 carbon spars and 3/4 oz glass job. I'll take a couple pictures later.

RE: Slinger with Brushless Outrunner
Without going with ridiculous power a Grayson 2212/6 v2 with a 5x5 or 6x5 EMP prop on 3s would get you a LOT more than a can 400.

For lighter weight, but still much the same power: http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/...jet-p-765.html
