Default Brushless ESC questions......

1. Do they draw current in braking mode? ie hard brake is set and I launch a glider then pull the throttle back till the brake engages and fly for 15min in that position.

2. Timing Advance? What does this do and how can it help?

3. Switching frequency? What does this do and how can it help?

4. Responding delay time to Throttle? What does this do and how can it help?

I realise not all ESC have these functions and many are auto in operation.

Any info appreciated.

1, no, they short the motor coils and this causes the breaking action.
2, tuning for the motor, much like tuning a glow mixture screw (dont play unless you have too)
3, as above, useful for timing small motors for EDF etc
4, make it feel like a jet [:-]
