Default WOW-RC 30A esc

heres a scanned info sheet that came with mine. its a great esc. i found it really great when u near the end of your flight .. it kills the motor. if u throttle down & slowly back up i gives u just enough to land.
the key is to just make sure your MAX current draw is just peaking & not over the top .. or else u will have problems.

anyhow .. hope the data sheet is of help to someone.

I couldn't see any of your data that was posted about the esc or other equipment. Do you have much experience with this line? I'm looking at it for a cheap solution for a slow stick. The vendor is suggesting that I go with a 2410-09Y brushless outrunner motor a 15A esc and a 1200 3 cell lipo from wow-rc. I've tried to find more information on wow-rc products but haven't found much.
I don't know if this will me jack to you but if you have any knowledge of this line I would appreciate it. Obviously I'm new to the hobby and want to get my feet wet but I don't want to get in too far over my head either at the same time I'm not into wasting a ton of cash. All 3 pieces can be picked up for right about $60 so fill me in here too on what I sould expect.
2410-09Y Specifications:
Weight = 2.0 ounces (57 grams)
Diameter = 1.2 inch (31mm)
Total Length = 2.4 inch (62mm)
Shaft Length = 1.1 inch (28mm)
Shaft Diameter = 3mm (GWS Props fit nicely)
Voltage = 7.2 to 12.6 KV = 1100
Current = 12 amp max.
sj925 ... re.esc. hi ive just had a look at the links. they seem to be working today. ive had some problems myself with the free hosting. ive been looking for alternative sites & found another.
About the esc .. my experience .. well its really only user. ive no circuits & guess the time & effort in building one (unless in bulk) would be of little gain. i would suggest having a good look round the net & shops. ask some questions & try to find out what motor power u need & then match a esc. if the model is not going to be small/park/indoor type .. then i would consider using a good capacity lipo battery. u must consider the weight. as long as your esc can handle the current .. id check the current being drawn from the battery & adjust the prop accordingly. if a larger prop is used then the amp draw will be higher. think of it like going uphill in your car. u will need more power & likewise .. the propellor makes the motor work harder .. & your esc will supply more amps .. your battery will suffer if its not big enough .. a chain reaction!
I myself was in the dark when i 1st ventured into this not long ago .. but with some experimenting it starts to come clear. The esc handling power can be straight forward .. the battery also .. but the motor & prop are the most confusing. i have a 300wtt & a 220wtt & they still draw the same power at 11.1v & yet the prop sizes are different!!! the 300wtt seems to be more efficient but has lower RPM output. the 220wtt has a higher RPM & yet with a 1ins smaller prop draws the same current around 20A !! (lower resistance winding i guess)
i hope this helps ... i would also suggest looking for a PSU with ammeter or a multimeter with high amp range to check your settings before u ruin the esc/lipo. ive found the DC motor doesnt seem to be affected the same as a nitro engine. if u stick a larger prop on a DC motor it doesnt really complain the same as a ic engine .. but yor battery might! hi hi
Anything recomended is always a good place to start .. but dont hold your breath .. some errors can creep in. the biggest factor is effeciency. if u can keep your battery in good order & get good flying then your winning. this is the importance of checking the amp draw at max RPM.
also try to vent the battery & esc to keep them cool.
hope all this blurp helps ... russ
the 30A wow esc ive got is great so far. its not got too many menus like some others but it does its job nicely. it cuts out the motor if the volts go lo .. & doesnt get too warm at 20A.

PS .. dont be put off by all this jargon. once uve set it .. it can be left alone .. in fact i just listened to the beeps when i 1st got it & used it. its self setting unless u want to change things.

hi .. Bought 2x new esc from E- . but theres a string of beeps .. 16 in all. i couldnt work out whats going on apart from the obvious soft start and reverse. ive emailed the guy but need to get the new plane in the air today!!

well for quickness i just dug out an old esc. its reliable and i need to get airborne quick. i needed to know the set up. theres so many out there and they all seem different. this is frustrating.
well while i was at it i had to search to find the instructions. i searched online and i couldnt find one for this esc. well for what its worth .. my last post seems to be a dead end.

have a look here ... for all of you with that wow-rc 30a sitting in a box somewhere ... this may help.

in case it doesnt .. for the record.

1 beep = select lipo
2 beep = select NI-MH
3 beep = select brake on-off

thats about it for the throttle stick programming. its easier than most ive got .. in fact i leave them as they are if they work ok.

hope this update is helpfull.

russ
