New to electric: Questions
First question: How can I "compare" electric power to Glow power? Mean: how to get an idea of Hp on a electric engine?
Second: Which is the most powerful electric system availabe up to now?
Thanks

RE: New to electric: Questions
Electric power is measured in watts. Voltage of battery x amps of motor draw = total watts of power. You then take that total watts of power and divide it by the weight of the aircraft in lbs and get watts per pound. That is how you decide on motors, batteries, etc. Based on the watts per pound and what the plane is designed to do, or what you want the plane to do. Example: 3D planes require 150-200 watts per pound for unlimited 3d performance.
The most powerful motor I find is this http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...odID=EFLM4160A Designed for planes 12-20 lbs

RE: New to electric: Questions
There are people flying much bigger models on electric power. The AXI Gold "5360 Special" motor is rated to fly scale models weighing up to 33 pounds while spinning a 30" prop. A Plettenberg Predator 30-8 motor is claimed to fly 3D planes up to 33 pounds and scale planes up to 66 pounds.
