Default Two motors, One speed controller?

hi, I am a beginner at rc ... everything
I have been reading up on things and looking at many airplanes both rtf and arf. I have read that if you have a plane with twin motor that you need two speed controllers.
What if you have two motors that have max current of 15Amps each, can i use a single 30 amp speed control with a y adapter?
This may be a cheaper or lighter solution.

You can use one speed controller for brushed motors but if you are using brushless they will each need their own constroller.

Brushed controllers are pulsed DC, whaile brushlessa are Modulated 3 phase AC.

If you use two brushed motors and one ESC does the ESC need to be rated double what one of the motors is rated?
