Default what size motor to replace 540 brushed


I have a Thunder Tiger Windstar with 540 brushed motor , flew This wedensday and on third flight with battery fully charged ( 2100ma nimh 7 cell stick) motor lacked enough power to gain altitude, and upon landing motor was to hot to touch ( 35 amp ESC ) my guess motor is toast , what outrunner or brushless motor should I replace with

if you run it right, it doesn't matter what you use, it will always be hot to the touch.

I'd look at a Feigao 540 motor at Hobby City (United Hobby) - you can fit a planetary gearbox or perhaps use the one you had your 540 brushed motor in. Choose the correct Kv to suit your gear ratio and prop.
