RE: Electric Wood Props
Master Airscrew makes a series of wood prop for e-power. They generally draw a couple of more amps than a like sized APCe, but sometimes the more scale appearance is worth it.

RE: Electric Wood Props
Wow! I checked the Windsor Propeller/Master Airscrew site and they don't list them anymore! That's a surprise. Radical R/C carries the Xoar line of beechwood e-props, but I don't know much about them. I do Trust Dave at Radical though.

How desperate are you and what size do you need? I have a few lying around.
Walt
PS You might try Kirk at new creations r/c. He doesn't lsit them, but I used to get them from him. He might have an odd one or two lying around.

RE: Electric Wood Props
Thanks again Walt. I'm not desperate yet lol,i'm finishing
up on my GP electric Cub. I have an Electifly 35-36-1200
bl motor with a electrifly 60 amp Esc (came yesterday),
still need a couple of 4s lipos and a Good balancer and
charger. It looks like both the motor and esc have female
Billet connectors,so much for plug n play. I'll check out the
link you gave me,thanks.

I don't know if these are suitable for electric, but the range is large! http://www.zingerpropeller.com/Tractor.htm

RE: Electric Wood Props
Dr. Kiwi, Bob,
I have a large collection of Zinger props that serve as paint stirrers. I'm not an engineer of any kind, just a guy who experiments to find what works. I have tried Zingers on everything from 8 NiMh cell to 36 NiMh cell motors and I have never found one that performed as well as the MAe woods. I will add the caveat that these were all geared motors; perhaps they would work on direct drive at higher speeds.
Again, just my personal experience,
Walt

RE: Electric Wood Props
E-props are generally thinner and undercambered. One reason is that they don't have to handle the power strokes of wet-power. I think, but don't actually know, that they are undercambered because e-motors have more torque.

Thats a great explanation. Thanks, I hate the thought
of having to use a plastic prop on a Cub, but I might have to.

RE: Electric Wood Props
I have used the Xoar PJN Electric Beechwood props. with great sucess. For the higher power setups, pushing 400+ watts, and 13" dia. or larger, they really shine.

RE: Electric Wood Props
Has anyone tried the Xoar props in the larger sizes. I'm looking at the 22x10E and was wondering how it would compare with APC
and Mejzlik?
Thanks,
Darrell B.

RE: Electric Wood Props
I just flew today my parkzone corsair with a 10/6 wood zinger prop. Worked out great with no issues, and also had a nice sound to it. Not sure what size prop you need, but the corsair uses a 480 outrunner at 960 kv. The stock prop was a 9.5/7.5, and the performance for me was better with the 10/6 do to lower pitch speed and higher low speed thrust. Compared to the stock plastic e prop, the zinger was a LOT thicker in the hub, and had a smaller mounting hole that was reamed out. The zinger has a wider blade than the e prop as well. Good luck with whatever you decide to get!
