Default ESC question

Bear with me as i slowly make the transition to electric flight. I am reasonably certain that i read somewhere that you cannot use an ESC designed for a brushed motor for a brushless. My question is can you use a brushless ESC for a brushed motor?

No they will not interchange, a brushed motor is true DC and just has two leads (+) and (-), a brushless motor has 3 leads, similar to a 3 phase Ac motor.

NO, brushed with brushed and brushless with brushless, do not mix because you will burn something. Sorry.
