Inrunner direct drive????
I have a spitfire .30 wiht a full brushless setup. I had a brushless system but monthst of grass landings and bent shafts drew me insane. The motor is toast now and the only motor i have left is a brushless outrunner. It worked the same on my setup as the outrunner did so heres the question..can i have a direct drive brushless inrunner motor?! Iv looked around and iv seen that with the correct prop (probably apc 9 by 6) and a 25 amp esc wit 11.1v 20c 1500mah lipo, the inrunner can be a nice reoplacment for my toast ourunner...Can someone tell me if it would work!!!!! thanks!

Assuming your research was accurate there's no reason you can't run an inrunner on DD. Typically it would spin a smaller prop than the outrunner, but at a high rpm.

This direct drive brushless inrunner you intend to use... exactly what motor is it, especially the Kv... I can't think of too many inrunners which can spin a 9x6 in direct drive.

RE: Inrunner direct drive????
It wont work for you on that plane, sorry. A ducted fan fan spins a small fan at very high speeds and if you try that motor with a prop, it will fry your esc or batteries or motor, or all of them at once. There are brushless inrunners that will work I'm sure, just not sure on the size you need for a .30 size plane. If you meant a 30 inch wingspan, then there are many that would work. But, in my own opinion, you would be better off with a quality outrunner. Outrunners typically have thicker stronger shafts than inrunners do and are not usually prone to bending or breaking. If you meant a 30 inch span, then a supertigre st370 outrunner would be about perfect, very small in size and weight, and should be able to swing a 9x6 prop on 3cell lipo pretty good. Plus, it's only about 20$ and you can use your 25 amp esc no problemo. If you meant it was .30 glow size plane, then not sure what to use?
