eflite 480 help please
I have a Parkzone Corsair with the stock plug n play esc.
I am using 2200 to 2800 3 cell batteries.
I bought and installed an adapter off ebay and an eflite 480 1020kv(?)(not the 9??kv) motor after cracking the original Parkzone 480 plastic motor casing.
The original motor still worked fine.
With the new motor I had a 9x7 APC E prop and now went to an 11x7 APC E prop.
With fresh batteries the esc/motor instantly goes into cutout.
Do I need to reprogram or change the ESC?
Thanks, I searched for about an hour and couldn't seem to find the answer.

Use a smaller prop! You may be drawing more than is good for it. What current does it draw with that 11x7... if you don't know that then you need a Wattmeter.

I do not have a wattmeter. The motor/esc went into cutout even with the 9x7, the motor recommends a 10x7 to a 12x6 so the 9x7 shouldn't have been too big. I thought maybe the 9x7 was too small which is why I tried the 11x7.
Thanks

Have you checked the motor connections closely? I found that problem on my Mini Ultra with a 480/900kV. After I "squeezed " the female connector I had no problem. What wah happening was that the connection became "loose" after I applied throttle. In your case there could be any number of reasons. Divide and test. In otherwords try your motor on another setup (if you have one) then try another motor with your current setup, etc.

Assuming that the current draw for the new motor dosent exceed the current limitations for the stock ESC it should work.
If the old motor works with your original setup and the new motor does not then look at the motor.
The new adaptor I think are made out of metal.
It may be possible that the screws are gong too far into the motor and shorting out inside???
It has be be something stupid simple.
When ever I get this happening I go back to square 1 and start all over again...
Good luck

Had 5 batteries that were kaput. Fresh batteries problem solved. I left them fully charged over winter and apparently that really does hurt them. My buddy bought a hyperion charger and checked the internal resistance and it was very high.
