Could the wrong timing setting on my esc make my B/L motor cog?
Hello, I finally finished my Dumas Swamp Buggy airboat and ran it for the first time a few hours ago. It uses an airplane outrunner brushless and an airplane esc, so that's why I posted in the airplane section. Anyways, the motor cogs for about 10 seconds before it finally starts spinning. As long as you don't let it completely stop, it works great. When you make a complete stop and hit the throttle again, it stutters stutters stutters, then starts, every time.
The motor and ESC are just a cheapo made in China Ebay special and the instructions aren't that great. It does have the ability to set the timing to LOW MEDor HIGH though. It says that default is LOW. Does having the proper timing set to match the motor have anything to do with my problem?

Does the ESC have a setting for "Fast Start"... that might kick things into action better???? You could always try different timing... no harm will be done... but I've usually found low works best anyway.

For the start up, it has "normal" "soft" "super soft". "Normal" is default.
OK. Will try all 3 settings on the timing when I get home later. I was just making sure that no harm could be done if I messed with it and didn't need to.
