E-Flight 25 in a Hobbico 40 balsa ?

I have recently taught my self to fly a Falcon ep trainer.
HAVING A BLAST !!! Love ailerons !!
Due to noise restraints I wanna take the OS MAX 40 LA out of my my Hobbico .40 trainer witch is bigger and balsa with mono coat.
I have a E Flight 25 motor, with a 40 ESC, from A much larger trainer that it was mounted in.
Will this motor and ESC fit this lighter installation ?
Thanks for getting me air born.
Hope i`m in the right forum.

You can use this online calc program to test motor battery and prop combo's You did not say if you have a battery or not. So I picked a 4s 4000mah.

http://www.s4a.ch/eflight/motorcalc_e.htm2

Using a 4s 4000mah lipo, Eflite .25, 12X5 prop you would be right at the limit of the ESC. Says you will pull 42 amp at 88 ounces, -5.5 pounds of thrust. Would be better to get a 60 amp ESC

Using an 11X7 APC E prop brings thrust up to 96 ounces or 6 pounds of thrust at 42 amps

ESC

Im sorry. No, I don't have a Battery yet. Still VERY NEW at the sparky end of this hobby. I have in the back of my head Bigger is better ???
But now I`m learning about the power of LiPo. And am learning that weight is a BIG issue.
Unlivable !!!! Tech is out doing it`s self every day.
11 x 7 might be cutting grass ?
Thank You for helping me out and walking me through this process.
I`m sure I`ll be bac with many more questions.]
But, after learning to fly solo after 28 years.....I`ll keep asking.

So the Jeti 40 ESC that I have is wrong for the E flight 25 ?
Or , are you saying that I have to pick the right Batt for this application ?
There is a wood 10 x 8 electric Master air mounted to the motor now.
Just didn`t want to dump any more cabbage on this trainer. Just back to work after 6 months. And the bride wants here dining room table back [X(] Batt, no problem. Thats a givin.
Thank You again for helping out a newbi. It will click soon.
Wish I could just drive over and bring you a case, and chew the fat.
LHS is great if you know what you want....CARS.. and there mark up is 285 % and they just order from tower .

Well the ESC would be to small for the 11X8 and a 4s battery. If you go to a 3s battery, but you would have to increase the prop size. It is a balance between battery, and prop. Lower cell count of battery means larger prop, so there is a trade off. With a 3s battery would only give about 53 ounces of thrust. Not enough to really fly it.

May need to make taller gear, or go with a higher cell count battery.

RE: E-Flight 25 in a Hobbico 40 balsa ?

When you say 4 s and 3 s are you referring to the cells ?
Number of B attires`s in the Pack ?
How many layers ?
If so ...why don`t they just say 4C or 3C.
I`m almost embarrassed at this point.............. Still learning about the power of the LIPo.
I do charge out side.
At least I`m flying solo right?
And once again , Thank You for taking the time to help a newbi.

Well they do say 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 6s. Yes it is the number of cells in each battery pack.

The "C" is a rating of amp draw and charging.

Gens Ace 1300mah 2S1P 7.4V 25C LiPo Battery
GENS ACE 2200mah 3S1P 11.1V 25C Lipo
GENS ACE 1550mah 4S1P 14.8V 25C Lipo
GENS ACE 2200mah 5S1P[/color] 18.5V 25C Lipo

Lots to learn. We all started at some point then learned as we went.

The "S" indicates that number of cells are connected in Series to add together their individual voltages to provide the rated output voltage of the "pack" (package).

The number followed by a "P" indicates how many of the "packs" are connected in Parallel to provide the same voltage with more power.
